Our currciulum has been designed to ensure our pupils have every opportunity to explore collaborative learning, knowledge of the world and enriching vocabulary.

SPELLING, PUNCTUATION AND GRAMMAR - This is taught daily throughout Upper Key Stage 2 to assist pupils in their reading and writing skills.  We follow a specific programme which shows progression across the Key Stage all the way up to Year 6.

READING - Reading is taught daily through whole class teaching (VIPERS), group reading and 1:1 reading opportunities.  All pupils from Year 2 to 6 take part in the Accelerated Reading programme to assist in the development of using and applying their basic reading skills, supporting pupils in becoming prolific readers by the time they leave us at the end of Year 6.

WRITING - Staff carefully select vocabulary enriching texts that inspire pupils to explore many writing genres that are both fictional and non fiction based. Many of our texts link to the wider curriculum supported by satallite texts.

Year 5 & Year 6 pupils follow the mastery approach in maths to ensure pupils have a deep understanding of the key skills needed to become a good mathematician by the time they leave primary education.  Through using the 'Concrete, Pictorial and Abstract methods our pupils continue to develop and build upon the basic skills needed in arithmetic and reasoning.
